CAREER: Scalable Lamination Printing of Near Atomically Thin Electronic Materials with Mechanical Stretchability.

Dr. Jung’s research program will focus on manufacturing large-area near atom-thickness electronic materials with high mechanical deformability and unveiling their technological potential. Specifically, it will investigate a novel lamination printing method to heterogeneously integrate two-dimensionally layered semiconductors onto substrates of unrestricted shapes in a highly scalable, sustainable, and controllable manner. The manufactured and integrated materials with strain-invariant properties will be explored for a wide range of unprecedented device technologies such as mechanically reconfigurable electronics, impossible with currently available approaches.
