A team of undergraduate researchers mentored by Dr. Kausik Mukhopadhyay was awarded the OUR Student Research Group Grant in the amount of $1500 for their project, “Electrochemical studies of Hybrid Membranes with Antimicrobial Efficacy”. The grant was funded the UCF’s Office of Undergraduate Research to Dr. Mukhopadhyay through the MSE department. The all-undergraduate team comprised of Ms. Jodie Chen (Burnett Honors Scholar, MAE), Ms. Kasey Rigby (Burnett Honors Scholar, BMS) and Mr. John O’Brien (Excel Student, Biology). All three undergraduate students won individual UCF travel awards to present their work at the recently concluded Florida Undergraduate Research Conference held in Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, FL from Feb. 21st-22nd 2020. The research, in collaboration with Dr. Brisbois, was led by Dr. Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Crawford and funded by the QEP program. The team received a special invitation to showcase their work at the HBCU Research Conference to be held at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL.
