People
Students are the heart and soul of our research group. Through hard work and training, they gain knowledge and experimental skills that are required to join the STEM workforce. Members from the Banerjee group have won competitive national fellowships and Conference awards, and have garnered best thesis awards at UCF for their exceptional scholastic achievements. Students author patent inventions and demonstrate strong research productivity as lead-authors in world-class, peer-reviewed journal articles. Alumni from our group are employed by global, multinational companies and laboratories. If our research interests you, please email Professor Parag Banerjee .
Professor Parag Banerjee is a faculty member in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering. He is also a Lead for the faculty cluster in Catalysis. From 2018 – 2024, he was an Associate Professor and served as the first Undergraduate Program Director, successfully leading the ABET accreditation of the MSE BS program. Prior to this appointment, he was an Assistant Professor at Washington University, St. Louis. From 2000 to 2006, Professor Banerjee was an R&D process engineer at Micron Technology Inc., studying high-k dielectrics for memory applications.
Professor Banerjee obtained his PhD in 2011 with Professors Gary W. Rubloff (MSE) and Sang Bok Lee (Chemistry) at the University of Maryland. He was the first John and Maureen Hendrick’s Energy Fellow at the University. Professor Banerjee holds 11 USPTOs and has 90+ publications in the field of semiconductor materials and manufacturing.
Mr. Terrick McNealy-James (TJ) is a graduate student and joined the Banerjee Lab in the Fall 2024. Prior to this, TJ was an undergraduate researcher in the Banerjee Lab where he worked on atomic layer deposition of Ru and Ru-derived nanocomposites. TJ is part of the PREM Center and for Summer 2023, an REU scholar at the University of Washington’s MRSEC – MEM.C. As an undergraduate, TJ has presented at the AVS International Symposium and Conference and at the AVS/ALD-ALE Conference, Seattle in 2023. He is a co-author of two papers.
Mr. Eric Bissell is a graduate student in Materials Science and Engineering. He joined the Banerjee group in 2022. Eric has a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He then worked as a Process Engineer at Luvata Waterbury Inc., developing superconducting wires for MRI applications. He is a member of the Tau Beta Honor Society. His research focuses on ALD of powders.
Ms. Glacier Ramkissoon is an MS student in Materials Science and Engineering. Glacier is a Fulbright Scholar who joined the Banerjee group in the Fall of 2024. She is a former Process Safety Engineer and hazard and operability scribe. She was a former Research Assistant at University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) where she obtained her BS in Chemical Engineering in 2023.
Dr. Gouri Syama Rao Mullapudi is a post-doctoral scientist in the Banerjee Group.
