Research
The goal of the Banerjee Lab is to understand mechanisms that lead to deposition and removal of materials at the limit of an atomic layer (~ 0.1 x 10-9 meters!). The motivation for achieving this goal is to engineer new materials from the bottom-up, one atomic layer at a time. This control over a material’s composition and structure at the atomic scale gives us exquisite control over its properties and therefore, its applications. With over 100+ publications, 12 USPTOs and tens of proud alumni in industry and academia, the Banerjee Lab is pushing the limits of what materials humans can make!
While our funded projects change over time, our core research philosophy does not. We invite you to scroll down and read more about our currently funded projects. The Banerjee Lab is part of the NSF-funded Center for Quantum Materials Innovation and Education Excellence. We invite you to learn about this center and its amazing members as well!
We thank all our funding agencies who have supported our work!
