Rene Diaz, an undergraduate student, won honorable mention in the AVS 2008 Florida Chapter Poster contest. He also placed second in the Showcase for Undergraduate Research Excellence for the best poster in the engineering, math, physical and computer sciences category. He won first place in the 2008 ASME Southeast conference poster contest in Tallahassee.
