Materials engineering student Nileshi Saraf won second prize in the materials, devices and applied research category for her poster, “Role of Gold Nanoparticle Size and Shape on the Sensitivity of Aptasensor Development” at the 2016 FLAVS/FSM symposium. She was one of several members of Professor Sudipta Seal’s research group who participated in the poster presentations.

The Annual Joint Symposium and Exhibition of the  Florida Chapter of the AVS Science and Technology Society and the Florida Society for Microscopy was held March 2-3 at UCF. The symposium consisted of a plenary lecture, technical sessions with invited and contributed presentations, a poster session including a student poster competition and an equipment exhibit for vendors to display surface analytical, vacuum, microscopy, thin film and microelectronic equipment.
