Professor Sudipta Seal will be honored by AVS during its awards ceremony, to be hosted on Oct. 31 in Tampa. Seal will receive the 2012 AVS Fellow Award “for pioneering developments in design and synthesis of nanostructures for protective coatings, sensors, and anti-cancer treatments; and for avid support of nanotechnology education.”

As an interdisciplinary, professional Society, AVS: Science and Technology of Materials, Interfaces, and Processing supports networking among academic, industrial, government, and consulting professionals involved in a variety of disciplines – chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, all engineering disciplines, business, sales, etc. through common interests related to the basic science, technology development, and commercialization of materials, interfaces, and processing area.
