Swetha Barkam has been selected as a ACerS President’s Council of Student Advisors delegate for 2015-2016.
The American Ceramic Society is a nonprofit professional organization for the ceramics community, with a focus on scientific research, emerging technologies, and applications. The mission of PCSA is to engage students as active and long-term leaders in the ceramics community and to increase participation in ACerS at the local, national, and international levels.
Barkham’s duties as PCSA delegate will begin at the annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio, this October.
Barkam is a doctoral student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and a member of Sudipta Seal’s research group. She is also a graduate senator in student government and has won several university awards.
