Sudipta Seal has been selected to receive the Pegasus Professor award, the highest honor given by the University of Central Florida to faculty who have made a significant impact on the university.

Seal is the director of UCF’s NanoScience Technology Center and Advanced Materials Processing and Analysis Center as well as Nano Initiative Coordinator. He is also a professor in the UCF Department of Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering.

Each year, the university honors UCF faculty for their outstanding performance in numerous categories. The Pegasus Professor award recognizes a faculty member has made an extraordinary contribution to the university community and has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and service.

The award will be formally presented to Seal by President John Hitt at the annual Founder’s Day Convocation on Wednesday, April 4.
