About the PI
Yuxun Ren is an Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering of the University of Central Florida since Jan. 2025 and holds a joint appointment at Resilient, Intelligent and Sustainable Energy Systems Cluster (RISES).

Yuxun Ren majored in New Energy Science and Engineering during his undergraduate study in Xi’an Jiaotong University and graduated in 2015. Same year, Yuxun joined the fast-growing field of battery and obtained his doctorate in mechanical and aerospace Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2019, supervised by Prof. Tianshou Zhao. After PhD, Yuxun moved to the U.S. to do postdocs and serve in battery industry for 1 year. Yuxun’s research spreads from battery materials, modeling to characterizations.
