Materials science and engineering student Andrea Molina Morena received the Excellence in Action Award from the UCF’s Office of Multicultural Academic Support Services for her academic achievement at the University of Central Florida. The Excellence in Action Ceremony recognizes the academic achievement of multicultural and first-generation undergraduate students with a 3.5 GPA or higher at UCF.
The mission of MASS is to maximize student success by assisting multicultural and first-generation college students in their transition to UCF and by connecting with the university community and our partners to promote and facilitate academic support services and programs. MASS champions to be a national leader in multicultural and first-generation college student advocacy.
Morena is pursuing her undergraduate research under the guidance of Assistant Professor Kausik Mukhopadhyay, where she is developing transparent dust-repellent coatings for space applications. She has been accepted into the MSE Ph.D. program at UCF, where she plans to carry out her doctoral studies starting this fall.
