Holden has successfully defended his Ph.D. (MSE) dissertation on September 18th with his work on “Understanding Solidification of Selected Aluminum and Magnesium Alloys Additively Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion.” From his dissertation, he has so far accrued as first author, 3 published, 2 pending and 4 in-preparation journal manuscripts. He has also contributed as a co-author on 8 published and 4 pending journal manuscripts. He defined the “productivity” of what a Ph.D. student can do in 3.5 years with relentless pursuit for knowledge. (Photo taken 2 years ago during NASA-KSC visit)
